When you are pregnant your body produces the hormone HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin).
The embryo fertilises the egg and implants itself in your uterus lining called the endometrium.
When to see the pregnancy result
1. Through pregnancy tests - this can be done 2 days after missing period
2. Blood test - the taking of blood shows the level of HGC already 2 days before your period is due.
Are you aware of old school pregnancy tests?
For this recipe you will need:
- 2 big spoons of baking soda
- 1 cup of your urine
When it starts getting fizzy, and changes colour to light yellow and creating white foam, then you are pregnant. Congratulations!
What can affect the outcome?
Something to be mindful about is that medication containing hormone HCG can affect the result (false result).
